If you are disturbed by noise coming from a licensed HMO (House in Multiple Occupation), report it to the City of Edinburgh Council’s 24-hour HMO hotline: 0800 085 4667.

Noise coming from any source may also be reported to the Council’s 24-hour Noise Enforcement Team (0131-311 3131).

Similarly, any source of noise can be reported to the police at Howdenhall Police Station: 0131-662 5000.

The police and the Council now have powers to confiscate noise producing equipment and also to levy on the spot fixed penalty fines of £35.
