About Marchmont
The Marchmont district of Edinburgh is built on land which was part of the Warrender estate. Its beautiful Victorian and Edwardian tenements owe their overall symmetry of form to the terms of the ‘feu charter’ which specified basic styles without cramping the styles of individual architects. Thus there is today a wide range of flats from single bedroom to large four bedroom properties. The earlier flats were very grand and have wonderful period features in plasterwork and joinery.
